The Hargus Story

Angus, the HargusHub mascot

Draft copy — replace with the real story.

The name Hargus is an amalgamation of our developers 2 favourite pets. A Birman cat Harriet and a Scottish Terrier called Angus. Hence the name Hargus was born.

Every HargusHub screen carries a small nod to Angus, our resident Scottish Terrier and unofficial head of morale. He showed up mid-way through building this platform and never really left — so when it came time to put a face on the brand, there was only ever one candidate.

HargusHub itself started the same way Angus tends to approach things: stubbornly, one good idea at a time. We were tired of stitching together separate tools for projects, process improvement, and customer relationships, so we built one platform that covers all of it — pick the modules you need today, add the rest as you grow.

A key driver behind making the Tasks module free to use forever is quite personal to us. Our founder, Steve, has dealt with mental health challenges that made it hard to hold everything in his head at once — one more thing added to the pile until there was no room left to think clearly about anything else. Deadlines started slipping, not because the work wasn't getting done, but because there was nowhere to put it all down. Building a simple, reliable task list turned out to be the thing that helped most: once it was out of his head and onto a list he could trust, he could finally look at his workload objectively instead of carrying it around as constant background noise. That's why Tasks isn't locked behind a paywall — everyone deserves that same relief.

The HargusHub team is small but mighty, and we’re proud to be building a platform that helps small businesses and teams work smarter, not harder. We hope you enjoy using it as much as we enjoy building it.

We'll keep expanding this page as the story (and Angus's role in it) develops.
